Name history row
Every name a card has ever carried. valid_to null = the current name. Unlike slugs, a name is not owned: two cards may hold the same name at different times.
One row per name a card has carried, with the dates. The current name has a null valid_to.
Where it appears
registry.json → name_history[]history/names.jsoninside cards/{codex_id}.json as name, valid_from, valid_to
Fields
Every field is present on every record; a value that does not apply is null, never missing. Types are from the release's schema; the schema itself is the contract.
| Field | Type | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
name | string | The name, exactly as the official API gave it. |
codex_id | codex ID, C plus six digits | The card that carried the name. |
valid_from | date, YYYY-MM-DD | The first date the registry saw this name. |
valid_to | date, YYYY-MM-DD or null | The date it was replaced; null while it is the current name. |
